1. Overview

eMan Manufacturing Execution System is an information management system that can be customized according to the production characteristics and production process of the mold manufacturing industry. The system takes into account the overall needs of enterprise informatization, including order management, master plan management, design management, mold processing technology planning, workshop production monitoring, material management, dynamic optimization scheduling, statistical analysis, progress tracking, real-time warning, cost accounting, enterprise basic data management and interface with other application systems. The entire system can help mold companies shorten delivery cycles, reduce costs, improve product quality and core competitiveness of enterprises, and achieve sustainable development.

The functional architecture of the eMan manufacturing execution system is shown in Figure 1.

2. Main functional modules of eMan system

1. Mould quotation management

A mold is a single product with a trial-produced nature. It is not easy to get an accurate quotation at one time. The quotation for each mold should at least consider the following price components: mold price = design fee + material fee + manufacturing cost + sales expense + tax profit.

It is a huge workload for the mold contractor to consider all the above quotation factors alone. Moreover, the contractor will not be an all-round champion in design, material preparation, manufacturing progress control, quality inspection and acceptance.

eMan Manufacturing Execution System can provide accurate quotation support for mold companies based on mold cost and CAD data, cost statistics and BOM tables in the mold process library, which not only ensures the competitiveness of the quotation, but also allows mold companies to obtain the greatest benefits, as shown in Figure 2.

2. Order and project management

Mould enterprises have the characteristics of random orders and short delivery time. Order and project management personnel need to count new orders from time to time and calculate the costs of each project. However, errors are inevitable in the statistical process, which requires frequent review and modification, and is very time-consuming.

eMan Manufacturing Execution System can simulate order acceptance, estimate delivery time, assist in business negotiations, manage project orders and drawings in a unified manner, ensure data integrity, manage project costs, and make all expenses clear, as shown in Figures 3 and 4. Order management personnel can accurately count, save time and be efficient.

3. Master plan management

In the process of mold manufacturing, as the scale of the enterprise expands and refines, all levels of the enterprise are more eager to know the progress of mold design and manufacturing at any time. For example, managers need to know at any time what is the company's current remaining production capacity? Can they see the workshop production site transparently? Can they see the production progress in time? Can they estimate the order delivery time? What impact will the adjustment of the production site have on subsequent orders?

Planning is crucial for mold companies. Detailed and orderly design and production plans can help mold companies navigate and arrive at their destination safely. The master plan management module of the eMan YiMo Manufacturing Execution System can intuitively, conveniently and quickly display the completion time and person in charge of each stage of mold development; guide and constrain the detailed design plan, detailed procurement plan and detailed processing plan, etc., and various production reports can be provided to customers at any time; help managers of various departments to grasp the progress at any time, follow up on the design and production situation, and take timely measures to make adjustments to various emergencies, so that the operation chain of the entire mold company is in an orderly and virtuous cycle, as shown in Figure 5.

Figure 7 shows the production cycle standards for each stage of the master plan; standard production cycles for each stage can be established.

The association definition between the master plan stage and the standard process, the stage corresponds to the standard process, which facilitates the system to automatically extract the progress, as shown in Figure 8.

4. Design Management

The design management process is shown in Figure 10.

After receiving an order, mold companies are prone to various problems when designing molds, such as progress, design specifications, and process issues. When designers are designing, there are too much data in the BOM table, and it is easy to have problems when retrieving it. Many designers are unable to find problems during the design process. After the design is completed, they find many loopholes during the review, and rework is frequent, which affects the progress of the company's overall operation.

The eMan YiMo Manufacturing Execution System can ensure the standardization and process of mold design, and can understand the design progress (Figure 11 and Figure 12), changes and abnormalities in real time, and issue warnings at any time. In addition, the eMan YiMo Manufacturing Execution System can be integrated with common CAD design software to automatically obtain BOM list information and ensure the consistency of design data.

6. Optimized scheduling of workshop production

The workshop production optimization scheduling process is shown in Figure 17.

Workshop management of mold enterprises is a big problem. How to arrange the production of hundreds of molds and thousands of processes? How to reasonably allocate tasks? What is the load of each group? How to optimize the allocation of tasks to complete orders within the delivery period? How to understand the order completion status in a timely manner?

7. Real-time monitoring of the workshop

eMan Manufacturing Execution System adopts barcode technology, which associates parts with barcodes, uniquely identifies them, and makes management easier. Card swiping monitoring is simple and easy for employees to operate. It can flexibly handle special situations such as shift changes, multiple people processing one process, one person operating multiple machines, urgent parts insertion and process replacement. The data collection and statistics of the workshop are more objective, real-time and accurate. Quality inspection is included in the monitoring to minimize the losses caused by quality inspection problems. Employee performance appraisal has a basis to rely on. Data is updated in real time and real-time query is provided. Supervisors can check the latest parts processing status, mold progress and order progress without leaving home. Abnormal information can be obtained at any time and handled in time, as shown in Figures 18 and 19.

Materials are an important part of mold enterprise management. Planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, cost calculation and sales are all centered around materials. The material management module of the eMan YiMo Manufacturing Execution System covers all aspects of design, procurement, warehouse and processing, which is conducive to mastering the material situation in each link; designers participate in material selection to improve material utilization; set the minimum inventory and automatically issue replenishment notifications; realize material demand management, procurement management and warehouse management. The BOM design page is shown in Figure 20, and the BOM import configuration is shown in Figure 21.

9. Statistical analysis and decision support

The statistical analysis and decision support module of eMan Manufacturing Execution System can customize various reports for customers; provide support for the statistics, analysis and comparison of data for the Finance Department; the cost, quality and performance are clear and understandable, providing support for the company's financial planning; at the same time, this module supports order business negotiations such as quotation and delivery date.
