New inductors offer the same performance advantages as larger inductors
Shanghai, China, October 14, 2024 - Farnell element14, a global distributor of electronic components products and solutions under Avnet, announces the supply of Abracon's new AOTA series of miniature cast inductors .
Building on the success and strengths of its traditional cast inductors, Abracon has expanded its cast inductor technology into the sub-3mm inductor segment, delivering the same superior performance as its larger counterparts despite their compact size.
Euan Gilligan, Supplier Account Manager and Abracon Specialist at element14, said: “The miniature cast inductor offers all the benefits of a traditional cast inductor in a very small form factor, including excellent EMI shielding, high power density and low core losses. It also effectively mitigates unwanted EMI, handles high power loads, reduces core losses, and therefore enhances signal integrity, space efficiency, and improves energy efficiency in electronic circuits.”
Abracon applies its cast inductor technology to smaller packages, providing more solutions to meet the changing needs of the electronics industry. For example, Abracon's AOTA series is ideal for IoT, machine-to-machine, secure car access, item tracking, indoor navigation and other connected applications. With smaller size, lower cost and higher performance, they are an ideal replacement for traditional resin shielded or multilayer inductors.
The AOTA series of inductors are available from element14 in package sizes ranging from 1.4mm x 1.2mm to 2.5mm x 2.0mm, with a maximum height as low as 0.65mm, supporting small and low-profile designs. With inductance values ranging from 0.11 to 10 µH, they feature low DCR, low core losses and a saturation current of up to 14.5 amps to support high power loads and high power density requirements.
The full range of Abracon AOTA inductors is available now from Farnell (EMEA), Newark (North America) and element14 (APAC).
