Beijing, China, September 19, 2024 - Qorvo®, a global leader in connectivity and power solutions, today announced the launch of the QPA3390, the first 24V power doubler amplifier for DOCSIS 4.0 broadband and cable TV (CATV). This new 1.8GHz surface mount module brings excellent efficiency and performance, and is 30-40% smaller than traditional hybrid solutions, making it ideal for space-constrained applications.
Thanks to advanced GaAs pHEMT and GaN HEMT technology, the QPA3390 released this time provides 23dB gain at 1794MHz frequency and has excellent linearity. It has excellent return loss performance, low noise, and can adjust the DC current to obtain the optimal balance between RF output and DC power consumption, making it an ideal choice for high-performance broadband networks. The QPA3390 uses a compact 9mm×8mm multi-chip module (MCM) package and integrates Qorvo's advanced GaN technology to ensure optimal reliability and low noise. As the first 24V solution on the market, this innovative amplifier provides a total composite power of 73dBmV at 11.5W, making it an excellent choice for low-power applications.
"The QPA3390 sets a new standard in DOCSIS 4.0 amplifier technology to meet the high demands of the broadband industry," said Bob Simmers, senior market manager for Qorvo's Infrastructure business unit . "With its superior performance and compact design, the QPA3390 further solidifies Qorvo's leadership in the CATV amplifier market."
The QPA3390 features adjustable DC current capabilities to optimize power consumption based on output level, reducing operating costs, and advanced temperature sensing capabilities to ensure reliable operation under a variety of conditions. Used in conjunction with Qorvo's QPP0023 transformer, and QPP0022 and QPP0024 baluns, the QPA3390 is designed to create a complete and optimized solution for today's broadband networks.
Qorvo's QPA3390 is in production now. Cable TV equipment suppliers can achieve the most cost-effective and reliable performance with Qorvo's DOCSIS solutions.
