1. Concept of new factory construction
As European environmental regulations are strengthened and major countries further tighten CO2 emission targets for the automotive industry, the market demand for our automotive inverters and ECU products is increasing. In order to build an efficient and fast supply system in Europe, we have established a new plant in Serbia. This project is in line with the "Western Balkan Cooperation Initiative" launched by the Japanese government in Serbia and other regions, and has received strong support from the Japanese and Serbian governments.
Serbia has many talents in science and engineering who are proficient in English. We have already started recruiting key personnel in the new plant and technical department as candidates for the future production management of the European group company. In the future, we will continue to recruit talents in order to realize the construction of the new plant.
In addition, as part of building a supply chain and preparing for factory operations in Eastern Europe, we have begun selecting production equipment suppliers and facility operators in Eastern Europe, which will help revitalize the economies of Eastern Europe and Serbia.
The factory is planning to introduce the latest equipment to build a mother factory for inverter production in Europe, and at the same time, strengthen inverter development capabilities centered in Serbia to promptly meet the needs of European customers.

3. Business expansion in Serbia and cooperation among group companies
In order to build an efficient supply system in Europe, we have established a new plant in Serbia as a centralized base for the group's production activities. In the future, many of the group's businesses will enter the local market. We will work together with Nidec Motor Serbia Co., Ltd., which is currently under construction (responsible for the manufacture and sale of automotive motors and related products, and is scheduled to be completed in October 2022), to improve operational efficiency.
