Vishay's New FRED Pt® Fifth Generation 600 V Hyperfast and Ultrafast Recovery Rectifiers Meet AEC-Q101 Standards and Significantly Reduce Reverse Recovery Losses
15 A to 75 A Devices Improve EV/HEV On-Board Charger AC/DC and DC/DC Converter Efficiency
MALVERN, Pennsylvania — November 3, 2021 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) recently announced the launch of 10 new FRED Pt® 600 V fifth-generation Hyperfast and Ultrafast rectifiers that meet the AEC-Q101 standard for automotive applications. Vishay Semiconductors 15 A, 30 A, 60 A and 75 A rectifiers have excellent reverse recovery performance in similar devices, improving the efficiency of AC/DC and DC/DC converters and soft and hard switching or resonant circuits.
The recently released rectifiers have 30% lower reverse recovery losses than the closest competitive device and 48% lower than the previous generation FRED Pt solution, while also having low conduction and switching losses, thereby improving light-load and full-load efficiency at the high-speed LLC output rectifier end of the electric/hybrid electric vehicle (EV/HEV) on-board charger.
The rectifiers are available in TO-247AD and TO-220AC packages. The X-type is a Hyperfast ultra-fast recovery rectifier, and the H-type is an Ultrafast ultra-fast recovery rectifier. The advantage of the X-type rectifier is low QRR, and the advantage of the H-type rectifier is low forward voltage drop. The device is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and has an operating junction temperature of +175 °C.
Device Specifications:
Samples and production quantities of the new FRED Pt rectifier are available now, with lead times of 12 weeks.
