In the past two years, with the rise and application of LED light source technology, the life of projector bulbs has been increased to tens of thousands of hours, and projector users no longer need to worry about replacing bulbs.

The light-emitting principle of LED is different from that of incandescent lamps and gas discharge lamps. The energy conversion efficiency of LED light sources is very high. Whether it is a high-definition or a micro projector, high expectations are placed on LED light sources. LED light sources have three obvious advantages over traditional light sources: small size, belonging to a cold light source, the heat dissipation module can be greatly reduced in line with the development trend of miniaturization; a high color gamut range, which makes up for the defects of traditional light sources with more color loss, and can better meet the requirements of high definition. So we can see that the world's top 500 companies, such as Samsung, LG, ACER, DELL, BENQ, HP, etc. have chosen this type of product as the main product direction for the marketization of LED projectors.

Recently, Samsung launched the F10M, which combines many advantages in one. While increasing the LED brightness to 1000 lumens and breaking the world record, it also opened up new application areas for LED projection products, allowing many projection manufacturers to see the broad prospects of LED light sources in the future.

According to media reports, the well-known manufacturer HP has also joined the ranks of launching micro projectors. The HP AX325AA is a 0.45-inch DLP with a brightness of only 100 lumens, a contrast ratio of 800:1, a red/green/blue three-color LED light source, a resolution of SVGA (800x600), a projection distance of 2.6 meters, and a projection size of 15 to 60 inches. The most important thing is that it weighs only 0.42 kg and uses D-Sub output, but the projector end is a special 30pin connector. This projector can be used for 10,000 hours.

LED light sources have many characteristics such as small size, low power consumption, long service life, low heat dissipation, and wide color gamut, and these characteristics also make it the best choice for new light sources for projectors. However, LED light sources also have their shortcomings, that is, insufficient brightness. Brightness is one of the biggest problems that plague the popularization of LED projectors. Although there are LED projector products on the market with a brightness of more than 1,000 lumens, this brightness is still far from enough for daily applications, especially business applications. Therefore, manufacturers still need to continue to work hard to break through technical bottlenecks and make unremitting efforts to create a broad prospect.
