High-performance offline power controller with thyristor dimming for LED lamps. It uses advanced digital control technology to detect the type and phase of the dimmer and can change the LED brightness by adjusting the dimmer conduction angle. The iW3614 uses PWM signals to control the LED brightness. Its unique digital control technology achieves flicker-free dimming. The iW3614 can be applied to all dimmer schemes, including: leading-edge dimmers, trailing-edge dimmers, and other dimmer types such as R-type, RC-type, or RL-type. In the no-dimmer state, the controller automatically detects the no-dimmer configuration. The iW3614 operates in quasi-resonant mode to improve efficiency. The iW3614 has many key protection functions built in. The iW3614 uses iWatt's advanced primary-side detection technology to achieve better line and load regulation even after removing the secondary feedback circuit. At the same time, due to the use of pulse-by-pulse waveform analysis, the iW3614 can provide precise constant current output control. The iW3614 can maintain stability under all operating conditions while removing loop compensation components. Therefore, the iW3614 can reduce the number of external components, simplify EMI design, and reduce the overall material cost.
