There are a lot of fake news in the market, and the publicity specifications are different from the product specifications. The most serious phenomenon is the screen material of MP3. Many manufacturers clearly produce CSTN screens, but they say they are OLED screens in their publicity. There are also many well-known brands among them, which has caused great confusion to consumers. In order to eliminate consumers' concerns about buying fake screens, we have listed several ways to identify real and fake OLEDs here.

As far as the current market is concerned, the two most commonly used materials for color screens are OLED and CSTN. Both of these screens are 65K full color, and these two materials are the most common materials on the market.

1. Color distinction

OLED and CSTN are easy to distinguish in terms of screen color. OLED is a self-luminous material that does not require background light, so the color is uniform and bright, close to the original effect. However, CSTN is inferior to OLED in color level and light transmittance. When displaying a pure black screen, CSTN still has a very slight background light, making the entire color appear uneven. This is also a typical performance of CSTN. The CSTN color screens that are flooding the market are inferior to OLED screens in terms of color saturation and brightness. Many users of CSTN screen products have reported that the machine cannot see the content clearly in the sun and there is a tailing phenomenon when playing animations.

2. The difference between wide viewing angle and limited viewing angle

The viewing angle of OLED is very large, reaching 170°. No matter at which angle, we can clearly see the fonts and colors on the display. At the same time, OLED can also see the content displayed on the screen clearly in the sun; CSTN cannot achieve such an effect. Its viewing angle is far inferior to OLED, and the color inside can only be seen from the front of the screen. From other angles, CSTN cannot clearly display the color of the screen, and the CSTN screen will dim in the sun. Switching positions and looking from another angle, we can see the narrow viewing angle of the CSTN screen. From a sensory comparison, the clarity and sharpness of the OLED screen are several times higher than that of the CSTN. In terms of color contrast and saturation, OLED shows the characteristics of bright colors and realistic pictures, while the CSTN screen is gray and dull, and the picture is dull and dull. This is the biggest difference between the two and the easiest way to identify. Let's take a look at the comparison pictures, as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2.

3. Power effect

OLED has been recognized by the industry as the next generation of mainstream display technology because of its many superior properties. It has the advantages of being thin and light, high-definition, fast refresh rate, low energy consumption, low temperature resistance, excellent shock resistance, potential low manufacturing cost, flexibility and environmentally friendly design. In terms of the machine's playback time, MP3s using OLED screens are very energy-saving. OLED screens use very thin organic material coatings and glass substrates. Electric current passes through them to automatically emit light, which saves power and makes the screen thinner; machines using CSTN screens are reflective LCD devices.

4. Price

In the current international market, the price of an OLED screen is about 13 to 14 US dollars, while that of a CSTN screen is between 5 and 6 US dollars. In terms of price, it may be difficult for consumers to identify the characteristics of the product, but consumers should be reminded that if the price of the same MP3 equipped with an OLED screen differs by about 100 yuan, it is entirely possible that the merchant is making false propaganda.

Knowing the above four points, I believe the chances of consumers being deceived are very small.
