New LED street light cooling module: LED street light cooling module with temperature reduction to 40° + integrated packaged LED module
At present, the main heat dissipation methods of LED street lights are: natural convection heat dissipation, forced heat dissipation by adding fans, heat pipes and loop heat pipes. However, they all have many shortcomings. The fan heat dissipation system is complex and has low reliability. The life of the fan is often shorter than that of the chip, and it has long been abandoned by the industry. Although heat pipe heat dissipation is accepted by the industry, the effect is far-fetched. Another method is to use heat sinks for heat dissipation, but due to the limited surface area, the effect is still unsatisfactory.
Features of the new LED street light heat dissipation module solution:
1. The heat dissipation structure guides the heat to radiate upward and around the heating element with the heating element as the central axis. The entire structure is called a radioactive sunflower cylindrical structure, which maximizes the surface area and is conducive to the diffusion of heat into the air.
2. The radiator is made of special high heat dissipation aluminum alloy material. Aluminum is a metal with relatively good heat dissipation and other properties. Through special surface treatment by Fuyitong, they are almost not corroded and have an infinite lifespan.
3. This solution innovatively adds a special medium in the center of the radiator, using a certain physical principle to quickly transfer heat to the entire inner surface of the radiator lamp shell, and then the heat is taken away by the exchange of fins and air made of high heat dissipation materials. This structure can control the temperature of the LED by increasing the length of the radiator, making the temperature of the LED close to the normal temperature of 30 degrees.
It can be seen from the figure that the lower the junction temperature, the better the attenuation and life performance. The red dots in the figure are general high-power integrated packaged LEDs, the yellow dots are multiple low-power dispersed LEDs, and the green dots are Fuyitong high-power integrated packaged LED lamps. This solution can reach 40 degrees and the theoretical life span can reach 500,000 hours.
"This new heat dissipation structure can really extend the light decay life to more than ten years. By increasing the length of the radiator, this solution can be used in projection lamps and searchlights above 1000 watts. We are developing projection lamps and searchlights above 400W, 600W, 800W, and 1200W, which will be available at the Optical Expo in September," Cai Zhou added. It is reported that this solution can be used not only in LED street lamps, but also in other ultra-high-power LED lamps, such as stadiums, airports, docks, bridge projection lamps, golf course lamps, RGB stage lamps, RGB landscape projection lamps, square lamps, military searchlights, etc., all of which require good heat dissipation performance.
There are two main types of streetlights in the current market: multiple low-power LED streetlights and high-power integrated LED streetlights. Although the latter has better visual effects, due to heat dissipation issues, mainstream LED streetlight manufacturers in mainland China, represented by Qinshang Optoelectronics, have chosen multiple low-power LED streetlights. There are only a few domestic and foreign companies that make integrated LED streetlights.
The combination of multiple low-power LED street lights can easily solve the heat dissipation problem, and the lumen value of a single chip package is high. However, the visual effect is poor, the sky is full of stars, and the shadows on the road overlap, which can easily cause visual fatigue or dizziness to the driver. In addition, the lamp circuit system is complex, the lamp circuit has many ports, and the reliability is reduced; the circuit is not easy to dim, it is easy to be damaged, and the power conversion rate is about 85% low.
High-power integrated packaged LED street lights have good visual effects, and are shielded by reflective cups to prevent the eyes from looking directly at strong light spots, but they have high requirements for heat dissipation, and the lumen value of multiple chip integrated packages is relatively low at present. In terms of light color and lighting quality, integrated packaged LED light sources show unique advantages: there will be no uneven light color in the same lamp, the light emitted by the light source is uniform and thorough in the irradiation plane, with good visual comfort, and there will be no ghosting phenomenon that troubles modular lamps. It is driven by a single driver, has few ports, strong reliability, and the wiring layout inside the light source will not cause electromagnetic interference; it can easily realize the stepless dimming function; the power conversion rate is as high as about 95%, etc.
