Analog Devices' AD5522 is a highly integrated four-channel parametric unit measurement unit (PMU) that includes a single channel of four parameters. The single channel unit (PPMU) channel includes five 16-bit, voltage output DACs with programmable input ranges for the drive voltage inputs, clamp inputs, and comparator inputs (high and low). Offered range is drive and measurement current range A±5μ80 mA. Four ranges use range ±5μ80 mA. sense sensor; dual channels can also be sensed using off-chip sensing to provide a high current output range of up to ±80 mA. Currents exceeding ±80 mA require an external amplifier. The 50 MHz interface can operate in fast update mode. At 83 MHz, each interface protocol supports Low Voltage Signaling (LVDS). Output for channel comparison, used for pass/fail testing and feature patching. The control controller allows the user to easily change or drive conditions, DAC and current range of the device used. The SDO (Spark Data Output) allows the readback of diagnostic information. SPI and LVDS features, personalized 80 users mainly use TQFP automatic packaging. Pass and leakage current testing, power supplies, instrumentation, source meter measurement units (SMUs), and precision measurements. This article introduces the AD5522 features, special functions and detailed functions, application circuit, as well as the main features, circuit diagram and bill of materials of the evaluation board EVAL-AD522EBDZ.

The AD5522 is a high-performance, highly integrated parameter measurement unit consisting of four independent channels. Each Pin Parameter Measurement Unit (PPMU) channel includes five 16-bit voltage output DACs that set programmable input levels for the force voltage input, clamp input, and comparator input (high and low). Five programmable force and measurement current ranges are available, ranging from ±5 μA to ±80 mA. Four of the series use on-chip sense resistors; using off-chip sense resistors provides a high current range of up to ±80 mA per channel. Currents exceeding ±80 mA require an external amplifier. Low capacitance DUT connections (FOHx and EXTFOHx) ensure the device is suitable for relayless test systems.

PMU functionality is controlled through a simple 3-wire serial interface compatible with SPI, QSPI™, MICROWIRE™ and DSP interface standards. An interface clock of 50 MHz allows fast update mode. The 83 MHz Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) interface protocol is also supported. Comparator outputs are provided on each channel for device failure testing and characterization. Control registers allow the user to easily change forcing or measurement conditions, DAC levels, and selected current ranges. The SDO (Serial Data Output) pin allows the user to read back information for diagnostic purposes.

Evaluation board EVAL-AD5522EBDZ

EVAL-522EBDZ is a fully functional evaluation board for the AD55552222. The "D" in the model number indicates that the AD55522 is packaged as a multimedia advertising version. The interface can work in standalone mode and be used with a PC interface via USB. When the USB is connected to the PC interface, the user can measure different voltage and current parameters through the AD7685 ADC on the panel, and can also provide software to control the PMU. The software includes technical notes describing the EVAL-AD5522EBDZ board and setup.

The EVAL-AD5522EB is a full-featured evaluation board designed to allow users to easily evaluate all features of the AD5522 quad-channel PMU. The board can be controlled in two ways, via the onboard connector or via the USB port of a Windows-based PC using the AD5522 evaluation software. The default setting is control via USB port. For complete details on all features of the AD5522 device and complete details on each register in the AD5522, see the AD5522 data sheet.
