When cables, household appliances and other equipment are overheated and damp, the insulation materials are prone to aging and the insulation resistance is reduced, often causing leakage or short circuit accidents in electrical equipment. Therefore, its insulation resistance should be measured regularly.
It is an instrument for measuring high resistance. It is often used to measure the insulation resistance value of electrical equipment or power supply lines. For example, measuring the insulation resistance of various motors, cables, transformers, household appliances, electrical equipment used in industrial and agricultural production, and distribution lines, as well as measuring various high-resistance resistors, etc.
The range of insulation resistance or high-resistance resistance that a megohmmeter can measure is related to the level of the DC voltage it emits. The higher the DC voltage, the higher the insulation resistance that can be measured. For example, the relationship between the rated voltage and the measurement range of the common zc25 series megohmmeter is shown in the table.
