1 Introduction
Permeability Tester/Sanitary Napkin Permeability Tester is used to measure the permeability of sanitary napkins, sanitary pads, diapers/sheets and other sanitary products. It is used in sanitary product factories, national quality inspection centers, etc.
2. Test principle:
Take a sample to be tested, unfold it in a natural state and place it on a large enough filter paper of known mass and place it under the funnel of the diaper permeability tester. Open the valve of the funnel filled with a certain amount of liquid quickly, and the liquid will flow freely to the surface of the sample. Remove the sample after absorbing the liquid, weigh the filter paper of known mass placed on the sample, and use the mass difference to represent the permeability. G=G1-G2………………………………(l), where: G--re-seepage, g; G1--mass of paper after absorbing liquid, g; G2--mass of filter paper before absorbing liquid, g.
Scope of application: This instrument is used to test the permeability of nonwoven materials to specific test liquids.
Technical indicators
1. Sample table inclination angle: 10°, 25° and 30°;
2. Briquetting: ¢100mm, weight (1.2±0.002)kg (capable of producing a pressure of 1.5kPa);
3. Timing: 0-99.99min
4. Operation process
Determination of slippage:
1. Install each component to the position shown in the figure. First, place the tester in a horizontal position, adjust the angle between the upper and lower panels to (30±2)°, and then adjust the lower opening of the funnel so that the projection of its center point is (200±2)mm from the lower edge of the tester's inclined panel, and the opening of the lower opening of the funnel faces the operator. Pour an appropriate amount of test solution into the funnel to moisten the funnel, and wash the funnel twice with the test solution and then discard it for later use.
2. Take a sample to be tested, cut off the elastic bands on both sides (including the three-dimensional edge guard), and then place the sample flat on the inclined panel of the tester, with the use surface facing up and the rear of the sample above the inclined panel. Take 100mm on both sides of the center point of the built-in absorption layer of the sample as the test surface, fold the extended part back to the upper and bottom of the inclined panel, and then fix the sample with four stainless steel clips. The steel clips must not hinder the flow of the solution. Adjust the height of the funnel so that the lower end of its lower mouth is 5mm-10mm away from the surface of the sample, and then place a beaker under the tester to collect the solution that flows down after the sample penetrates.
3. Use a measuring cylinder to accurately measure the test solution, 50mL for baby diapers/pads and 60mL for baby diapers, and pour it into a well-adjusted standard liquid discharge funnel for baby diapers and diapers/pads; 150mL for adult diapers and diapers/pads, and pour it into a well-adjusted standard liquid discharge funnel for adult diapers and diapers/pads. Then quickly open the funnel valve to the maximum, allowing the solution to flow freely onto the surface of the sample and flow outward along the slope into the beaker. After the solution has flowed out, close the funnel valve and wipe the bottom of the funnel to make sure there is no solution. Use a measuring cylinder to measure the solution in the beaker (accurate to 1mL) as the test result. If the test solution flows away from the side of the sample, the sample is invalid and another one is taken for retesting.
4. Calculation of experimental results: The slip volume is expressed as the volume (ml) of the sample that has not absorbed the test solution. Each sample is tested 7 times, and the maximum and minimum values of the 7 test results are removed. The arithmetic mean of the remaining 5 results is taken as the final test result, to 1ml. Note: If lateral flow occurs in less than 2 (not including 2) of the 7 samples, the results can be retained, but it should be noted in the test report.
Determination of back seepage amount:
1. Pour an appropriate amount of test solution into the funnel to moisten the funnel, and wash the funnel twice with the solution, drain the solution in the funnel, fix it on the bracket for standby use, and the lower opening of the funnel faces the operator. Take a sample to be tested, unfold it in a natural state, place it on a large enough filter paper of known mass and place it under the funnel, so that the vertical distance between the projection of the center point of the lower opening of the funnel and the center point of the built-in absorption layer of the sample is 5mm-10mm. Use a measuring cylinder to accurately measure the test solution, 40ml for baby diapers below S (including S type), 60ml for M type, and 80ml for L type and above (including L type), and pour it into the adjusted standard liquid discharge funnel for baby diapers and diapers/pads; 150ml for adult diapers, and pour it into the adjusted standard liquid discharge funnel for adult diapers and diapers/pads.
2. Turn on the power, then quickly open the funnel valve to the maximum, so that the solution can flow freely onto the surface of the sample, and at the same time press the "Start" button below the "Second Injection Time" to start timing. After 5 minutes, the buzzer sounds (press the reset button to stop the sound), and the "Second Injection Time" stopwatch automatically starts timing the next five minutes. Use the above funnel to inject the test solution again, with the same amount of liquid as before. When the second five minutes are up, the buzzer sounds (press the reset button to stop the sound). Quickly place several layers of φ110mm filter paper of known mass (until the upper filter paper has no liquid absorption) on the surface of the sample to absorb liquid, and at the same time press a φ100mm, 1.20kg standard pressure block on the filter paper, press the "Start" button below the "Pressure Time" to start timing, remove the standard pressure block after 1 minute of pressure, and weigh the mass of the filter paper with a balance. Press the reset button to reset the "Pressure Time". Close the funnel valve after the test and wipe off the solution left at the bottom of the funnel.
