Using a rock density tester is the most commonly used method at present, which has its inevitable reason and is also the best testing method.
Because, after the rock is excavated from the mountain, it usually goes through several forging and drying processes before it flows into the market. For this kind of rock, the density tester can quickly test it, and the same is true for rocks that have been stored for a long time. If the density of the rock is relatively low and it is exposed to humid air for a long time, no matter how the water content in the rock increases, the real density of the rock can be detected as long as the density tester is used. Therefore, the most popular instrument for testing rock density today is the rock density tester.
Operation and use of rock density tester
Step 1: Place the rock density tester horizontally on a stable and non-shaking table, gently put a small piece of rock on the top cover, and after the data displayed on the screen is stable, press the "MODE" button to let the instrument record the weight of the rock in the air.
Step 2: Open the top cover and gently put the rock into the water tank. At this time, the rock should be completely immersed in water, and observe whether there are bubbles on the surface of the rock. Bubbles will cause inaccurate measurement. If there are bubbles, just use a dropper to suck away the bubbles on the surface of the rock. After sucking away the bubbles, wait for the value to stabilize and press the "MODE" button again. At this time, the instrument will automatically calculate and display the data. This value is the density of the rock.
1. When placing the rock on the top cover, do not throw it, just place it gently.
2. Using a windproof glass cover can prevent the influence of flowing air on the measuring plate, so the instrument should be kept in the glass cover at all times.
3. After sinking the stone into the water, try to use a dropper to completely absorb the bubbles on the stone to get the most accurate data.
