Focus on practical implementation to accelerate innovation implementation
As always, the Works With Developer Conference helps IoT application developers improve their ability to use the latest technologies to solve practical problems. It has specially opened thematic technical training and practical courses related to the four major wireless protocols: Bluetooth, Matter, Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) and Wi-Fi.
Bluetooth Technology Training: Introduced the current status and future development trends of Bluetooth, how to accelerate the development of Bluetooth IoT terminal devices, and the low-power Bluetooth Getting Started Guide. In addition, precise distance measurement was performed on-site using Silicon Labs' dual-antenna development kit based on the xG24 chip that supports Bluetooth channel sounding technology. This technology can achieve safe and accurate distance measurement between two low-power Bluetooth connected devices.
Matter Technical Training: Introduces the role, application and use of Matter, how Zigbee devices can be seamlessly connected to the Matter ecosystem, and Matter's key network configuration information and OTA security solutions. A hands-on training session is also provided on site. Participants can use the Simplicity Studio development environment to run Matter over Thread and experience the convenience and speed of Matter development.
LPWAN technology training: introduced LPWAN protocols and new trends, compared Wi-SUN, Z-Wave LR and Amazon Sidewalk protocols, and introduced the low power consumption and scalability of Wi-SUN FAN 1.1. LPWAN technology has been widely used in smart cities, smart agriculture, industrial automation and other fields due to its long-distance, low power consumption and wide coverage.
Wi-Fi Technology Training: Introduced how to achieve ultra-low power consumption through the Wi-Fi Developer Journey, and built a Wi-Fi tracking platform based on Silicon Labs SiWx917. A hands-on session was also set up on site so that participants could experience the Wi-Fi development journey firsthand. Silicon Labs continues to improve the performance of Wi-Fi products, and the latest SiWx917 series products are designed for ultra-low power Wi-Fi 6 applications, which can significantly extend battery life.
In addition, the 20 wireless product and solution display tables set up throughout the day were also highlights of the conference. The booths set up by Silicon Labs and sponsors demonstrated the latest IoT wireless connection technologies and reference designs, including Matter smart home reference design, artificial intelligence/machine learning reference design, Bluetooth channel detection technology applications, Wi-Fi low power solutions, LPWAN technology solutions, and wireless modules developed by many customers using Silicon Labs chips, etc. These brought participants an intuitive experience and understanding of wireless connection technology, making them truly feel that "connection is everywhere."
All physical events of Works With 2024 have come to an end. For professionals who are unable to attend the physical events, Silicon Labs will also hold the Works With Online Developer Conference on November 20-21 (Central Time) in a completely free and online manner, continuing to provide everyone with the opportunity to learn about the convergence of IoT and AI innovation.
