Avnet announces the launch of its first product compliant with AWS global strategic cooperation agreement
Avnet releases the first IoTConnect platform based on AWS services. The platform is pre-configured with AWS Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud services, helping OEMs achieve simple, fast and secure IoT deployment.
February 21, 2023, Beijing, China - Avnet released the first IoTConnect platform based on Amazon Cloud Technology (AWS) services, aiming to help OEM manufacturers simplify the development of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and shorten product time to market by 50 %above. The IoTConnect platform can help OEMs who are designing connected solutions to overcome various pressures and shorten product time to market while ensuring product scalability, reliability, maintainability and security.
At present, many OEM manufacturers have relatively streamlined organizational structures and need to continue to invest and integrate superior resources to create differentiated value and provide their technical expertise to the market. Because IoT projects often require additional technical support in terms of software, security, and cloud management, adding IoT capabilities to products often puts tremendous pressure on these companies. Helping them obtain pre-integration and abstract capabilities that can be easily integrated and deployed can greatly speed up the work progress of OEM manufacturers and reduce costs, allowing them to focus on developing independent intellectual property rights.
The first AWS-based IoTConnect platform integrates AWS cloud-native services such as AWS IoT Core, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), and AWS Lambda. Future upgraded versions of the IoTConnect platform will also add support for AWS IoT Greengrass, FreeRTOS, AWS IoT Analytics, and AWS IoT SiteWise. The IoTConnect platform released this time and its future iterations will allow OEMs to focus on the development of functions and applications, truly improving the performance of their connected products, thereby reaping many benefits.
Powered by AWS, Avnet's IoTConnect platform will provide advanced capabilities such as pre-integrated, edge-to-cloud hardware design, as well as secure authentication and identity management covering the entire device lifecycle. It will also provide OEMs with seamless, scalable, full-stack solutions, including hardware-agnostic edge design, as well as customized business applications and analytics. All these capabilities will be provided through Avnet's IoTConnect platform in a one-stop integrated service experience model, helping OEMs, system integrators and software developers to provide support for the final customer-facing solutions, ensure the security of the solutions, and Make a profit.
Lou Lutostanski, vice president of Avnet's Internet of Things business, said: "The launch of Avnet's first product based on AWS technology marks the beginning of our journey to help OEMs design, build, deploy and manage large-scale cloud-connected devices, applications and solutions. important path to development.”
