Mouser stocks Qorvo QPF4656 and QPF4730 Wi-Fi 6/6E front-end modules
October 14, 2022 – Mouser Electronics, the industry-leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor offering an ultra-rich range of semiconductors and electronic components™, now stocking Qorvo® QPF4656 and QPF4730 Wi-Fi 6/6E (802.11ax) Front End Module (FEM). These FEMs fully exploit the potential of the Wi-Fi 6E spectrum, and their efficiency can be improved by up to 25% compared to current competing products. Their small size and integrated matching capabilities help minimize floor space while providing significant advantages in cost, size and thermal dissipation.
Both FEMs are equipped with a single-pole double-throw switch (SP2T) and a bypassable low-noise amplifier (LNA), and use a 5.945GHz to 7.125GHz power amplifier (QPF4656) or a 5.1GHz to 7.125GHz power amplifier (QPF4730). These FEMs feature transmit (Tx) gain values of 30dB to 32dB, receive (Rx) gain values of 14.5dB, and noise figures of 2dB.
These FEMs achieve low power consumption while still maintaining the high linear output power and high throughput of the Wi-Fi 6E extended bandwidth maximum power level. With this wideband performance, the QPF4656 can operate in all channels of UNII5-8 (5.9GHz – 7.1GHz), and the QPF4730 can also operate in all channels of UNII1-8 (5.1GHz – 7.1GHz) without any logic switching. They also feature die-level filtering for second and third harmonics, 2.4GHz rejection for DBDC operation, and voltage detectors for application feedback. The QPF4632 also features a coupler RF power detector.
Applications for these FEMs include access points, residential gateways, customer site devices and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. For development use, Mouser also sells the QPF4656EVB and QPF4730EVB evaluation boards.
