On May 19, the "Intelligent Sense of Everything Connecting the Future" —— 2022 Goodix Technology Innovation Technology Seminar was held in Shenzhen. Based on years of strategic layout and continuous high R&D investment, Goodix Technology has made major breakthroughs in key IoT technologies such as security, connection, and perception. The seminar released and demonstrated the company's heavyweight innovative achievements such as security solutions, a new generation of low-power Bluetooth SoC, and ToF solutions, and discussed innovative application opportunities for the Internet of Things with many industry partners.
Security: One-stop solution to enable mobile security applications
The continuous emergence of new applications such as digital RMB, digital identity, and digital car keys not only creates a more convenient and intelligent life for consumers, but also creates huge opportunities for IoT information security technology and puts forward higher standards of security requirements. Goodix Technology's first eSE security chip GSEA0 has passed a series of heavyweight certifications such as CCEAL5+, EMVCo, and NFTC, and its security level has reached the world's first-class level. At this seminar, the release of this high-end security chip became the focus of attention on the scene.
The chip is equipped with ultra-large secure storage and a dedicated secure Flash IP that brings an ultra-long native lifespan. At the same time, the hardware erase and write balancing mechanism provides hundreds of millions of erase and write times for key security business data, greatly improving the reliability of terminal security applications. It has comprehensive international and domestic cryptographic algorithm support, and is combined with self-developed COS to achieve efficient multi-task parallel processing, meeting the requirements of complex business terminals for centralized security management.
At present, the company's eSE security chip has entered the commercial promotion stage. Combined with the company's first NFC chip GSC10, it will also launch an "eSE+COS+NFC" one-stop security application solution to provide chip-level security protection for consumer smart terminals such as mobile phones and wearables, and support financial payment, identity authentication, data encryption and other functions, accelerating the popularization of various innovative security applications represented by digital RMB.
Connection: Differentiated innovation accelerates the implementation of the Internet of Everything
The Internet of Things has been accelerating its penetration in recent years. According to IoT Analytics, the number of global IoT connections is expected to exceed 27 billion in 2025, with a compound growth rate of 22% from 2021 to 2025. Wireless connection application fields such as smart wearables, smart homes, and smart cities are welcoming huge market space.
Goodix Technology has been deeply engaged in low-power wireless technology for many years and has continued to increase its differentiated innovation efforts. The new generation of BLE SoC GR5526 series, which debuted for the first time, is designed to meet the higher display requirements of mid-to-high-end wearable devices. It is equipped with powerful screen drive performance and an embedded 2.5D GPU to greatly improve graphics processing efficiency. At the same time, it can reach 30+ frame rates on a 454*454 resolution display, bringing consumers a more extreme visual experience; thanks to the ultra-low power system architecture design, Bluetooth power consumption is optimized by nearly 30% compared to the previous generation; it supports the latest Bluetooth 5.3 standard, and its excellent RF performance brings more stable and fast connections. In the future, the company will continue to launch a variety of low-power Bluetooth products, and the GR533x series for IoT innovative applications such as smart homes and electronic tags will also be launched soon, so stay tuned.
Facing the smart meter market, Goodix Technology's NB-IoT OpenCPU has received great attention from industry customers participating in the conference due to its advantages such as higher integration, easier use and better BoM cost. It adopts the innovative dual-core architecture of AP&CP (application and communication system) to achieve ultra-low power consumption while ensuring that the operation and communication of the entire system are more stable and reliable. At present, the company has successfully implemented a smart water meter case based on this solution together with well-known industry partners, and is promoting it to a wider range of IoT industry applications such as meters.
In addition, the company's wireless connection products have rich system peripheral resources, support the industry's mainstream integrated development environment, and help customers accelerate the design and implementation of different applications. In the future, the company will also work with industry partners to build an open ecosystem for the Internet of Things.
Perception: Diversified applications to create a smart life experience
Sensing technology is an important foundation for the evolution of IoT towards intelligence. With its profound accumulation in the field of acoustic, optical and electrical sensing technology, Goodix Technology's intelligent sensing products continue to innovate, bringing consumers a rich and colorful smart life experience.
At the seminar, Goodix Technology demonstrated a 3D ToF solution that integrates image sensors and laser drivers, with high-precision depth measurement to support a wide range of applications such as mobile phones and robots. On mobile phones, the solution has high-precision, low-power ranging performance within a range of 5 meters and an error of less than 1%. With the self-developed densification algorithm, it meets the application requirements of accurate background blurring of photos and fast focusing of night scenes; in smart home scenarios, its "line array + area array" combination solution supports the two-in-one functions of intelligent navigation and obstacle avoidance required by sweeping robots.
At the same time, the three unique patented technologies bring advantages such as resistance to strong ambient light, resistance to multi-machine interference, and high dynamic range to smart devices. Goodix also provides end-to-end complete solutions such as software and hardware, optical path design, and algorithm SDK to promote the application of ToF technology in a wider range of fields such as aircraft obstacle avoidance and height measurement, face recognition, and automotive safety.
In addition, in line with the strong growth of the wearable market represented by smart watches/bracelets/earphones, VR/AR, Goodix has launched a rich combination of sensor solutions for health detection and multi-functional interaction, which have been commercialized on a large scale by well-known domestic and foreign brands. With the advent of the era of big health, the demand for family health monitoring has become increasingly strong. The company has launched an innovative blood oxygen clip integrated solution, equipped with a medical standard-level blood oxygen algorithm and in conjunction with upper-level related applications, to provide users with effective health guidance, disease screening and early warning functions.
"We have always adhered to the value of growing together with our customers," said Ms. Hu Yuhua, President of Goodix Technology. "The company will firmly cultivate the core IoT technologies of 'perception + computing + connection + security', and actively work with industry customers and industry chain partners to transform more innovative technology accumulation into commercial applications, and jointly bring consumers a safer and more convenient lifestyle."
