Chinese and foreign component manufacturing stars gathered at CEF to help Shanghai build a dual circulation intersection for the electronics industry. The domestic electronic component industry is ushering in a boom. Where are the opportunities and challenges?

Earlier this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued the "Basic Electronic Components Industry Development Action Plan (2021-2023)", which will promote breakthroughs in the basic electronic components industry for key markets such as smart terminals, 5G, industrial Internet, data centers, and new energy vehicles. By 2023, the total sales of electronic components in my country will reach 2.1 trillion yuan, and we will strive to have 15 companies with revenue exceeding 10 billion yuan.

Electronic components play a very important role. They include electronic elements and other electronic devices excluding integrated circuits and display devices. They are represented by capacitors, resistors, etc. They are of many types and have different functions. There are 7 major fields and 20 categories. They are the cornerstone of the entire information industry and the key to ensuring the security and stability of the industrial chain and supply chain.

It is reported that my country has become the world's largest producer of electronic components. In 2019, the overall sales revenue of the national electronic components industry exceeded 1.86 trillion yuan, with tens of thousands of companies. With the rapid development of 5G communications, new energy electric vehicles, AI+IOT, industrial control and other applications, the market demand for basic electronic components has reached trillions of yuan, but it has also brought huge challenges and opportunities.

Attracting many key domestic manufacturers

Based on the country's high attention to components and the rich and colorful activities of this exhibition, the exhibition area attracted nearly 100 key domestic manufacturers.

Domestically, there are Sichuan Yongxing Electronics Co., Ltd., one of the top 100 electronic component companies in China, Ningbo Hongwu Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., the largest aviation connector manufacturer in China, Ningbo Songle Relay Co., Ltd., a well-known relay manufacturer in the industry, Hunan Xiangyi Zhongyuan Technology Co., Ltd., which has the largest civilian tantalum capacitor base in China, Beijing Jingyuxing Technology Co., Ltd., a first-class frequency component manufacturer with military production qualifications, Aerospace Changfeng Chaoyang Power Co., Ltd., which has the largest professional power supply production base in China, and Guangdong Kexin Electronics Co., Ltd., an expert in SMD surface mount discrete devices. Abroad, there is Shanghai Carat Electronics Co., Ltd., a joint venture under the German Carat Electronics Group, a global professional electronic component manufacturer.

At the same time, the organizing committee is also actively inviting well -known domestic and foreign manufacturers such as GigaDevice, HDA Semiconductor, Lingdong Microelectronics, Xinwang Micro, Saiyuan Microelectronics, Jiuhai Semiconductor, Xinhai Technology, National Technology, China Microelectronics, Anlu, HDA, Yuejiang, Rohm, GigaDevice, Renesas, Qorvo, Xinwang Microelectronics, Infineon, ST, TI, etc. to participate in this event.

Don't miss out on exciting events

Of particular note is the China Basic Electronic Components Development and Supply Chain Security Summit. The summit will specially invite leaders of relevant departments, industry associations, policy drafting units and other units to review the achievements of industry development this year and provide suggestions for the development direction of the industry.

This summit is divided into two parts. The first part is the China Basic Electronic Components Development Summit, which focuses on several major categories such as power devices, passive components, electronic materials, connectors, etc. It brings together mainstream manufacturers and industry experts in the industry to discuss the technological innovation and industry trends of basic electronic components in emerging application markets. The second part is the Supply Chain Security Summit, which will focus on component supply chain channels, security certification and market forecasting tools to provide the industry with safety precautions against shortages and out-of-stocks. The summit organically combines the component industry situation with supply chain security, helping the majority of component manufacturers, solutions and equipment manufacturers to improve testability design, procureability design and manufacturability design, thereby promoting product application innovation under the premise of controlling industry supply security.

There are also wonderful component forums during the same period, including: Component Summit and Innovation Awards Conference, Component Industry Survey and Trend Release, Semiconductor Industry Development Forum, Connector Forum. Discuss the real situation and potential problems faced by upstream and downstream enterprises in the electronic manufacturing industry chain, including component manufacturers, original factories, agents, traders, and downstream terminal group enterprises.

What will be held at the 98th China Electronics Fair?

On this occasion, the China Electronics Fair (CEF), known as the vane exhibition of components, held the 98th China Electronics Fair in Shanghai from November 2 to 4, 2021. The theme of the exhibition is "Strong Components, Internet of Everything". The China Electronics Fair started in 1964 and is the oldest and most authoritative electronics industry exhibition in China. With leading basic electronic technology, it promotes independent innovation of China's electronics industry and grows together with China's electronics industry.

The exhibition focuses on components and covers six major application areas, namely automotive electronics, consumer electronics, 5G and the Internet of Things, defense electronics, industrial electronics, and medical health . There are three exhibition halls, E1-E3, on site to showcase different themes.

Among them, the Electronic Components Pavilion attracted the most attention. The pavilion exhibited electronic components including passive components, semiconductor discrete devices, connectors, 5G core components, special electronic components, electronic materials, etc. There were also integrated circuits and applications: microcontrollers, third-generation semiconductors, FPGAs, power management, digital-to-analog converters, sensors, etc.

The exhibition has a rich variety of supporting activities, creating a multi-dimensional industry event of "exhibition, competition, award, conference". In addition to the 30,000 square meters of exhibition activities, there are also welding competitions, awards for electronic components business and technological innovation, and rich forum content. More than 20 industry professional conferences include component series forums, Internet of Things series forums, smart manufacturing and industrial Internet series forums, etc., focusing on discussing current hot topics and the latest industry technologies.

The 98th China Electronics Fair - International Components and Information Technology Application Exhibition is about to take place. Shanghai New International Expo Center invites you to witness it together on November 2nd.
