According to Ren Zhengfei, these talented young people come from both China and abroad. However, Ren Zhengfei made it clear that the principle of recruitment is not to recruit Americans. This is not to retaliate or exclude the United States, but to take into account that those with American identity, green cards, and permanent residency in the United States may be subject to the long-arm jurisdiction of the United States.

In terms of salary, Ren Zhengfei revealed that if the selected candidates win a gold medal in the world computer competition, their salary may be 5 or 6 times the normal entry level. Every year, there are 40 gold medal winners in the world. We recruited a group of them this year and set their salary higher than that of Google.
Of course, it is not all about gold medals and top scorers, but also about runner-up and third place. Ren Zhengfei said that the number of Chinese people participating in international competitions is still too small, and the country should encourage college students to actively participate in international competitions. International competitions have certain rules and very strict coaches, which is good for ability testing and promoting teaching.
These young geniuses must first pass Huawei University’s examination system, and only after passing the examination can they enter the interview stage.
Ren Zhengfei said that some young talents were recruited this year, and more young talents will flock to Huawei next year.
