On September 14, according to foreign media reports, if there is no change, TSMC, which is at the forefront of the industry in chip manufacturing process technology, will not be able to continue to manufacture chips for its major customer Huawei after September 15. However, foreign media stated in the report that even without Huawei's orders, TSMC is still strong in chip foundry and its revenue will still be far higher than Samsung Electronics.

Foreign media reported that TSMC is currently the world's largest chip foundry. Even if it cannot manufacture chips for Huawei, they are still leading in chip foundry, expanding their lead over Samsung Electronics.

In the report, foreign media also mentioned that at the second quarter earnings analyst conference call, TSMC Chairman Liu Deyin revealed that after May 15, they had not received any new orders from Huawei. According to current regulations, they did not plan to ship to Huawei after September 14.

Foreign media reported that although TSMC did not receive any new orders from Huawei after May 15, they received a large number of orders from other customers, offsetting the impact of no new orders from Huawei.

Foreign media also mentioned in the report that experts expect Apple, Google, Nvidia, Qualcomm and AMD to place additional orders with TSMC and deepen their ties with TSMC.

In fact, Apple and AMD are TSMC's two largest customers in the United States, and TSMC has also expanded its business ties with these two customers. TSMC has received orders for Apple's self-developed Mac processors, and the A14 processor that will be equipped in the iPhone 12 is also exclusively manufactured by TSMC. AMD plans to launch the Zen 3 CPU and Radeon RX6000 GPU in October, and is expected to rely on TSMC for foundry.
