In 2021, the global semiconductor industry is still facing the problem of tight production capacity. Some foundry manufacturing companies have raised prices many times. SMIC, the largest and most advanced wafer foundry in China, has also encountered good times, with its full-year net profit exceeding 10 billion for the first time.

The full-year operating results for 2021 have not yet been announced, but major financial companies are optimistic about SMIC's situation, and its full-year profits will be the best in history. CICC predicts that net profit will exceed 10.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 141%.

However, the doubling of SMIC's net profit in 2021 was not entirely due to operating performance. A large part of it was due to the sale of a subsidiary this year. Therefore, profits in 2022 will decline and are expected to be around 8.9 billion yuan.

For SMIC, in addition to the sharp increase in profits, the most important task in the past two years is to expand production capacity while taking advantage of the bull market cycle.
