ZTE Demonstrates 1Gbps High-Speed ​​Download on Smartphone Using Rohde & Schwarz CMWflexx System

ZTE, a leading global mobile device manufacturer, demonstrated the world's first smartphone with a download speed of 1 Gbps at the 2017 Mobile World Congress in San Francisco, USA. Using the R&S CMWflexx test platform from Rohde & Schwarz, the audience could see that the download speed of this ZTE Gigabit phone reached 1 Gbps.

ZTE's Gigabit mobile phone is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile platform with an integrated Snapdragon X16 LTE modem. By combining carrier aggregation technology, 4x4 MIMO antenna technology and 256-QAM high-order modulation technology, it can achieve a download speed 10 times faster than the first generation of LTE mobile phones. This will serve as ZTE's cornerstone product, providing Gigabit data rates to 4G networks and providing pre-5G solutions to operators around the world.

This epoch-making Gigabit mobile phone will be demonstrated through the Rohde & Schwarz R&S CMWflexx platform. Through carrier aggregation of three downlink carriers, the R&S CMWflexx system can measure data throughput of more than 1Gbps. All three carriers will use 256QAM modulation, two carriers are 4x4 MIMO, and the third carrier is 2x2 MIMO. The R&S CMWflexx test platform can provide fast and accurate test results, and can flexibly support some other key application scenarios, such as Cat M1 (eMTC enhanced machine type communication), Cat NB1 (NB-IoT narrowband Internet of Things), LAA (licensed spectrum assisted access), and 2Gbps downlink throughput test achieved through downlink 8x4 MIMO.
