Design Introduction:
This second-generation automotive-grade IGBT/SiC-EV power inverter control reference platform includes the following changes:
-
Standard form factor P6 HybridDrive power modules meet the evaluation criteria for Onsemi VE-Trac™ and Infineon HybridPACK™ IGBT modules, such as the StarPower P6 module using Cree SiC chips;
-
Migrate from GD3100 gate driver to GD3160, improving efficiency and IGBT/SiC compatibility;
-
Add Ethernet interface function with THA1100;
-
Can achieve higher output voltage and higher power density;
-
The system IP uses a software parser embedded in the MCU, eliminating the need for a hardware parser, thus reducing the system's BOM count.
To ensure a high level of functional safety to protect vehicle operators as well as first generation systems, the enablement kit includes a system-level functional safety white paper, device FMEDA and a functional safety runtime framework for ASIL C/D EV-inverter implementation customers.
Functional safety consulting and safety software are optional additional services provided by the platform.
The platform provides a comprehensive foundation for the development of IGBT inverter control system solutions, which has been verified and dynamically tested.
