Chestnut Development Board-TI5708 First Hands-On Exploration [Copy link]

Many people have probably heard of TI's AM5708. The AM570x Sitara Arm application processor is designed to meet the strong demand for processing performance in modern embedded products. AM570x devices achieve high processing performance through their highly flexible, fully integrated hybrid processor solutions. In addition, these devices perfectly combine programmable video processing functions with highly integrated peripheral sets. Programmability is achieved through a single-core Arm Cortex-A15 RISC CPU with Neon extensions and TI C66x VLIW floating-point DSP cores. With the Arm processor, developers can separate control functions from visual algorithms programmed on DSPs and coprocessors, thereby reducing the complexity of system software. Since I am currently mainly engaged in the Internet of Things, EEWORD couldn't help but apply for a development board trial after seeing Lenovo's board, mainly using it in the Internet of Things. After filling in the application, after a long wait, it was finally approved and I got the development board. Here is a picture I have to say that Lenovo's service is really good, the packaging is in place, the development board is well protected, and there are special warm tips. Very good! After receiving it, I couldn't wait to install the mouse and connect HDMI for testing. After turning on the computer, the display interface is as follows, with very beautiful icons! After turning on the computer, I tested the QT interface display according to my work, which can display weather forecast, temperature, etc.! This kind of interface will also be used in our application scenarios, which is very useful for reference. I also checked the wired network link and tested the Internet access, and the speed was good. I also tested the dynamic picture display that comes with the development board, which is smooth and has little delay! Since the camera image display will also be used, and since I only have a USB camera, I have no choice but to use the keyboard. The connection is as shown below Open the camera reading program that comes with the development board, the display is very smooth and the refresh is also very fast! Because the resolution of the TV does not match the display resolution, there is a problem with the display! As can be seen from the picture, it is completely fine to use it for viewing on-site monitoring. With nighttime dynamic detection, it can achieve effective temporary control. From the entire test, it is ideal for edge gateway computing and intelligent inspection robots for the Internet of Things. The only drawback is that it cannot connect to the Internet via wireless WIFI and expand the 4G module. This content was originally created by EEWORLD forum user lang518899.
