Recently, Rockchip released four "AI artificial intelligence sweeping robot" chip-level solutions to the industry: RK3399, RV1108, RK3326, and RK3308, supporting functions from AI to VSLAM and laser navigation, comprehensively covering high-end to entry-level sweeping robot products, and achieving rapid mass production, breaking through the bottleneck of the traditional industry, and helping the standard definition and upgrade of the fourth-generation AI artificial intelligence sweeping robot positioning and navigation.

Rockchip released AI+VSLAM positioning and navigation technology based on RK3399 chip, which allows the navigation technology of sweeping robots to directly enter the fourth generation, truly realizing the AI ​​artificial intelligence of the industry, and perfectly integrating AI artificial intelligence with sweeping robots with image recognition, big data, deep learning, and intelligent algorithms.


RK3399, which adopts the fourth-generation navigation technology, is based on the CPU/GPU chip, visual recognition technology and AI algorithm, breaking the limitation of the original VSLAM technology's dependence on light conditions. It can not only be applied to complex indoor scenes such as weak light, weak texture, and strong light, but also can intelligently identify hundreds of indoor image objects, classify and record, visually measure distance and avoid obstacles, and plan the best cleaning path. The RV1108 and RK3326 chip-level overall solutions released this time both have VSLAM image visual positioning and navigation technology. In order to meet the R&D needs of different customers, the two types of chip solutions have made a distinction in the implementation of VSLAM algorithms:


RV1108 can support the implementation of VSLAM algorithm on DSP, has a built-in 8M ISP, and can support 3D cameras at the same time. For customers using VSLAM positioning and navigation technology, it can adapt to more complex usage scenarios; it supports MIPI CSI interface, and has a wider range of camera sensor modules to choose from.


RK3326 can support the technical implementation of VSLAM algorithm on the CPU/GPU side. The GPU of RK3326 adopts G31, which can support Full profile OpenCL2.0, and can quickly implement VSLAM algorithm on GPU. CPU+GPU work together to achieve better performance.


RK3308 can realize the laser navigation technology of mainstream sweeping robots and adopts 64-bit Cortex A35 architecture. Compared with similar solutions using 40nm Cortex A7, Rockchip solutions all use 28nm process for new processors with higher performance and lower power consumption, which can effectively solve the problem of chip heating, which is especially important for sweeping machines with built-in batteries.
