With the widespread popularity of the USB type-C interface and the maturity and unification of the USB PD protocol, high-power fast-charging devices on the market basically support the USB PD protocol specification, and electronic devices using USB type-C and PD protocols are becoming more and more widely used. For this reason, Nanxin Semiconductor, a leader in the domestic fast-charging industry, has launched the SC2150A that complies with the USB PD protocol specification standard.
Nanxin SC2150A can be controlled through the I2C interface. It is a PHY that supports the Type-C interface and supports USB PD2.0, PD3.0 and the latest PD3.1 protocol specification standards. SC2150A integrates the BMC codec physical layer, supports VBUS voltage detection, supports VCONN power supply, and CC withstand voltage supports 26V. Therefore, SC2150A supports data role switching, and with the application processor and power supply, it can support 100W or higher power transmission. SC2150A also supports DFP, UFP, and DRP configurations to meet various Type-C application scenarios.

SC2150A only needs a small number of external components to build a complete USB PD Sink or DRP end device. As shown in the figure below, the AP can be a traditional MCU or a Linux CPU. The controller is connected to SC2150A through an I2C interface and an interrupt IO to control the PD protocol. In the actual product development process, Nanxin can provide customers with USB PD protocol stack reference codes based on MCU bare metal programs and Linux system versions for different application scenarios, greatly accelerating customer product development progress.
