SGS issues ISO 26262 functional safety ASIL-D certification to Xiaohua Semiconductor

On March 4, 2022, SGS (hereinafter referred to as SGS), an internationally recognized inspection, verification, testing and certification organization, issued the ISO 26262 functional safety certification to Xiaohua Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xiaohua Semiconductor) for its automotive chip development platform. This is the first ISO 26262 functional safety ASIL-D certification issued by SGS in the domestic MCU chip field, which indicates that Xiaohua Semiconductor has established a product development and management process that meets the highest level of functional safety ASIL-D, reaching the international advanced level.

The ISO 26262 standard is a globally recognized automotive functional safety standard that covers the entire product life cycle, including functional safety management, concept stage development, system stage development, hardware stage development, software stage development, support processes, safety analysis, product release and other aspects.

In the severe environment of the chip shortage sweeping the world, it has overcome many difficulties to escort customers' stable production order. As the automobile accelerates its development towards intelligence and electrification, the requirements for automotive MCUs are getting higher and higher. Xiaohua Semiconductor is developing high-end multi-core automotive MCUs to meet the functional safety and hardware encryption network security requirements of ASIL-B to ASIL-D levels. New products will be launched to the market this year.
