TDK launches ICP-10125 SmartPressure waterproof barometer
TDK has announced the global availability of the InvenSense ICP-10125, part of the SmartPressure ™ family of MEMS barometric pressure sensors. The ICP-10125 achieves the industry’s lowest 0.4 Pa RMS pressure noise, achieves the industry’s lowest 1.3 µA power consumption, and ensures excellent temperature stability with a temperature coefficient of ±0.5 Pa/ / ° C.
The ICP-10125 integrates air pressure and temperature sensors in a small 3.55 mm x 3.55 mm x 1.45 mm chimney cap package with waterproof glue, providing IPx8 to 10 ATM waterproofing. The opening and chimney cap are finely processed to allow easier handling during production and assembly of customer products. The solution targets the fitness, smart watch and portable device markets that assist in fitness activity monitoring, location tracking of E911 calls, and indoor/outdoor navigation (dead reckoning, floor/elevator/step detection).
The InvenSense SmartPressure TM family uses an innovative capacitive MEMS architecture that provides lower power consumption and lower noise than competing products. With its ultra-low noise and low power consumption, the ICP-10125 is ideal for wearable fitness monitoring and battery-powered IoT. It can measure height changes as small as 8.5 cm, less than the height of a single stair step.
“The ICP-10125 delivers high accuracy, low power, high temperature stability, and waterproofing in a small package size to meet the needs of the wearable market,” said Uday Mudoi, product marketing director at InvenSense, a TDK Group company. “It can determine the exact location for E911 calls, track altitude changes for activity monitoring, and extend battery life for always-on motion sensing applications.”
InvenSense ICP-10125 is currently available through distribution channels around the world. A comprehensive development kit (DK-10125) and evaluation platform with necessary software are also available to support rapid development of products for customer systems. In addition to the ICP-10125, the ICP-10101 and ICP-10111 pressure sensor products are also available around the world.
