Renesas Electronics (TSE: 6723), a global supplier of semiconductor solutions, announced new features and expanded product coverage for its cloud-based embedded system design platform, Quick Connect Studio. Quick Connect Studio enables users to graphically realize co-optimization of hardware and software to quickly validate prototype designs and accelerate product development.
Renesas Quick-Connect Studio expansion upgrade
Provide implementation code customization and remote debugging functions
Quick Connect Studio enables engineers to create their own solutions by graphically dragging and dropping components and design blocks on the cloud platform. After placing each module, users can automatically generate, compile and build the base software. This is a major shift to the no-code development paradigm, making building production-grade software as easy as piecing together building blocks, requiring little upfront learning or invest. Cloud computing power brings fast compilation function, and the intuitive GUI reduces the learning curve. Quick Connect Studio automatically generates system software that can be iterated on hardware.
Renesas will continue to expand this platform to provide users with access to the increasingly rich product portfolio of Renesas and its partners to help build prototype systems. Quick Connect Studio currently supports all Renesas RA MCU boards and a variety of Renesas wireless modules and sensors. Not only that, it also incorporates products from partners such as ams OSRAM, TDK and Arducam, further expanding the scope of supported applications and designs. Quick Connect Studio now helps users build more than 350 systems using Renesas MCUs and discrete boards. At the same time, Renesas is also working with more suppliers and partners to automatically integrate more abundant devices, thereby providing customers with a more comprehensive product portfolio support to meet their system design and construction needs.
Renesas launches real-time code customization and remote debugging capabilities for Quick Connect Studio users. Automatically generated code can be customized in real time within the browser application. Leverage a rich set of remote circuit boards to dynamically test code on target hardware to verify operation before purchasing or building a physical circuit board and setting up a test system. This capability significantly accelerates the process of system proof of concept and system solution prototyping by concurrently designing the system's software and hardware components.
Renesas now offers multi-region security infrastructure deployment globally for a consistent user experience, faster response times, and lower latency; enabling automatic scaling to accommodate multiple concurrent users anytime, anywhere Visit the platform.
DK Singh, Vice President, Digitalization for Renesas said:
"Quick Connect Studio is a game-changing product for the industry - it gives engineers for the first time the ability to develop hardware and software in parallel. Our goal is to eliminate all preparatory work from the system development process - this is a game changer. This radical change enables designers to focus resources and energy on core innovations and quickly build software, thereby enabling rapid reconstruction and testing of product ideas.”
Sahil Choudhary, Director of Marketing at TDK said:
“Renesas helps customers accelerate proof-of-concept and production processes through Quick Connect Studio. Once integrated into this platform, customers can seamlessly integrate our MEMS 6-axis motion sensors with any Renesas RA MCU and generate usable products in minutes. production-ready code without having to delve into complex technical details.”
Renesas' Quick Connect Studio is part of Renesas Quick Connect , a standardized hardware platform with industry-common interfaces such as PMOD™, Arduino and MIKROE. Standard connectors allow engineers to mix and match MCUs, MPUs, sensors and connectivity boards seamlessly. In the future, users will be able to extend from Renesas to different partners, such as major cloud service providers, service integrators, and leaders in the open source community.
