PI launches InnoMux-2 high-precision multi-output power supply solution
PI today announced the launch of
the InnoMux-2™
series of single-stage independently regulated, multi-output offline power supply ICs. InnoMux-2 IC integrates AC-DC and post-stage DC-DC conversion stages into a single chip, providing up to three independent regulated outputs, suitable for white goods, industrial systems, displays and other applications requiring multiple sets of supply voltages Scenes.
Compared with the traditional two-stage architecture, there is no need to use a separate DC-DC conversion stage, which can reduce the number of components, reduce the PCB board size, and
achieve an efficiency improvement of up to 10%.
In addition, the new IC also uses 750V PowiGaN™ gallium nitride switch tubes, zero-voltage switching (no active clamping required) and synchronous rectification technology, which all help to further improve efficiency.
Roland Saint-Pierre, Vice President of Product Development at Power Integrations said:
InnoMux-2 IC can provide up to 90W output power and meet adjustment accuracy better than ±3% over the entire input voltage, load range, temperature and load current jump conditions.
The total efficiency of the power system
(
from AC to regulated low-voltage DC output section) can exceed 90%; the advanced InnoMux-2 controller can also manage power output under light load without using a dummy load resistor, which can convert no-load power consumption is reduced to less than 30mW. The European
Electrical Products (EuP) Directive
stipulates that the standby power consumption standard is less than 300mW, which provides more available standby power for certain application scenarios that need to perform necessary functions.
InnoMux-2
devices are available in Power Integrations' thermally efficient InSOP™24 and InSOP™28 packages, which allow heat dissipation through the PCB, eliminating the need for a heat sink. Device options include dual- and triple-output constant-voltage (CV) models; alternatively, one of the outputs can be dedicated to provide constant-current (CC) drive, suitable for powering LED backlighting in displays or providing fast charging for the internal battery.
Typical applications include televisions, monitors, home appliances, network equipment, smart home and building automation, LED emergency lighting, and industrial power supplies.
