Born for the next generation of electrification applications! Let’s get to know these new members of the S32K MCU family~
Today’s electric vehicle market is growing rapidly, requiring engineers and automakers to find the right solutions for battery management, efficient motor drive, fast charging and load balancing across the power grid.
Driven by such demand, NXP launched the S32K39/37/36 microcontrollers . As new members of the high-performance S32K series MCUs, they are designed for next-generation electrification applications and are intended to meet a wide range of electric vehicle application needs, such as traction inverter control, battery management systems, on-board charging, wire-controlled steering and braking, and DC/DC conversion, redefining the performance, energy efficiency and reliability of electric vehicle applications.
Features of these new families of S32K MCUs include:
-
Software and hardware are compatible with the S32K family.
-
Provides network, security, and functional safety capabilities.
-
Used in conjunction with the NXP FS26 safety system basis chip and the NXP GD3162 high-voltage isolated gate driver, the S32K39/37 MCU can be used for dual traction inverters.
-
Paired with NXP's S32E real-time processors, the S32K39/37 MCUs can serve as the control center for the electric vehicle propulsion domain.
