For nearly three decades, Ireland has been Europe's leader in developing adaptive computing A flagship R&D center for solutions with a strong and highly skilled workforce, we are committed to continuing to drive innovation in Ireland and support the European semiconductor ecosystem through further investment and expansion of our operations in Dublin and Cork. Our R&D teams in Ireland will design innovative high-performance and adaptive computing engines to accelerate data centers, networks, 6G communications and embedded solutions while taking a leading position in artificial intelligence."
Prior to AMD's acquisition of Xilinx in 2022, Xilinx had collaborated with the Irish IDA on several occasions to promote semiconductor innovation in Ireland. Most recently, in 2017, Xilinx announced a $40 million investment to expand its research, development and engineering operations and recruit more than 100 new skilled employees.
“This investment will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible while further cementing Ireland’s position as a global technology leader. This expansion further cements the company’s position in Ireland as a leading center for semiconductor innovation and positions Ireland as a leading center for AMD European Research and Engineering The core of the business. For nearly three decades, IDA Ireland has been proud to support AMD and before that Xilinx and is committed to supporting large-scale investments that have a positive impact on the European semiconductor industry.” CEO of IDA Ireland. Michael Lohan said.
