From September 2 to 7, the 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services was held in Beijing. Qualcomm, together with more than 20 Chinese partners, launched the "5G IoT Innovation Program" global solution, which was selected as a service demonstration case at this year's Fair for Trade in Services and won the "Technology Innovation Service Demonstration Case" award. This is also the second time that Qualcomm has won this honor for its cooperation with Chinese industry partners in the 5G field, following last year's "5G Pilot Program" award.
Qualcomm's "5G IoT Innovation Plan" is committed to promoting innovation and win-win results in the IoT industry from three dimensions: terminal form, ecological cooperation, and digital upgrade. Through technological innovation and service empowerment, Qualcomm and industry partners work together to create a rich 5G industry terminal system, laying a solid foundation for the large-scale development of 5G. At the same time, this global solution also helps Chinese partners make great progress in domestic and foreign markets and achieve domestic and international dual circulation development. This plan was rated as a "Technological Innovation Demonstration Case", which became a recognition and affirmation of Qualcomm's empowerment of Chinese partners to promote the large-scale commercial expansion of 5G and its deep integration with the industry.

Create a smart and connected future with 5G
In 2020, in order to accelerate the construction and development of the IoT industry ecosystem and enable Chinese manufacturers to better seize the broad opportunities in domestic and foreign markets, Qualcomm jointly initiated the "5G IoT Innovation Plan" with more than 20 leading manufacturers. While working with industry partners to build a rich 5G industry terminal system, it will help Chinese manufacturers make great progress in domestic and foreign markets by promoting innovation and empowering the ecosystem.
After the launch of the "5G IoT Innovation Program", Qualcomm has continuously innovated and provided a comprehensive and rich product portfolio to strongly support the commercialization and innovation of multiple categories of 5G terminals, creating opportunities for the entire industry and partners. In 2020, Qualcomm worked with Chinese manufacturers to launch a variety of 5G IoT terminals based on the Snapdragon X55 5G modem and RF system, becoming one of the earliest commercial 5G IoT terminals in the industry, accelerating the large-scale expansion of 5G. The commercially available terminals cover 5G ultra-high-definition live broadcast backpacks, 5G cameras, robots, industrial gateways, 5G CPEs and other types, which are used in more than ten scenarios such as news live broadcast, epidemic prevention and control, and telemedicine.
Based on the market recognition of Snapdragon X55, Qualcomm continued to launch Snapdragon X65 this year, becoming the world's first modem and RF system that supports 10Gbps 5G speed and complies with 3GPP Release 16 specifications, providing users with better network coverage, energy efficiency and performance. Just two weeks after the release of Snapdragon X65, 5G modules launched by Chinese manufacturers such as Quectel Communications, Fibocom, and SIMCom were unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai, demonstrating the powerful performance of Snapdragon X65 and Qualcomm's long-term close collaboration with Chinese partners. In May 2021, Qualcomm also announced an upgrade to Snapdragon X65, including improved energy efficiency and support for larger millimeter wave carrier bandwidth to meet the key requirements for China's 5G millimeter wave network deployment.
Currently, more than 1,000 terminals equipped with Snapdragon 5G solutions have been released or are being designed worldwide, covering many terminal types such as smartphones, CPE, XR, PC, robots, etc. Qualcomm's global 5G solution can meet the design needs of 5G terminals in various regions and countries in the world, which is of great strategic significance for opening up overseas markets. Many module manufacturers including MeiG Smart, Quectel Communications, Fibocom, and SIMCom have cooperated with Qualcomm for more than ten years, and have launched a series of 5G modules using Qualcomm technology, which has promoted the global application of 5G in the fields of Internet of Vehicles, Industrial Internet of Things, smart agriculture, etc.
Work with Chinese partners to better integrate into the new development pattern of "dual circulation"
In 2018, Qualcomm launched the "5G Pilot Program" in cooperation with leading Chinese manufacturers, hoping that when 5G is commercialized globally, Chinese manufacturers can play a first-mover advantage and lead the global market. In this process, Qualcomm has continuously expanded and enriched the content and extension of this cooperation plan, not only exploring new mobile applications and experiences brought by 5G, but also focusing on transformative technology applications such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. Compared with other industries, the Internet of Things has a longer industrial chain, and close collaboration among all participants is particularly important. Ecological cooperation and innovation are the core means to expand the Internet of Things ecosystem.
Not long ago, the MIIT and ten other ministries jointly issued the "5G Application "Sailing" Action Plan (2021-2023)", which clearly requires that in the next three years, the average annual growth rate of 5G IoT terminal users will exceed 200%. Faced with the broad prospects of 5G IoT, Qualcomm will continue to focus on the "5G IoT Innovation Plan" and, through close collaboration with upstream and downstream of the industry chain and support for the developer ecosystem, will support all aspects of the industry with a wide range of product portfolios and technical expertise, jointly promote the application of IoT in various vertical fields, and rely on the ever-expanding global network and channels to help customers create highly competitive products, expand global markets, and achieve greater success in the 5G era.
As a multinational company, Qualcomm is at the junction of the new development pattern of "domestic and international dual circulation" and is an important force in promoting the mutual promotion and coordinated development of the dual circulation. Through horizontal empowerment and promoting industrial development and progress, Qualcomm hopes to draw a chapter of industrial innovation with Chinese partners and become a model of cooperation in the field of science and technology in the era of 5G intelligent interconnection of all things.
