1. British Telecom removes Huawei's 5G equipment, Nokia/Ericsson will take its place


Bloomberg reported on May 15 that British Telecom engineers began a seven-year, $700 million demolition mission starting from the top of the Muswell Court tower in the British city of Hull.


The work will begin in Hull, the first UK city to achieve a Huawei-free network for British Telecom . Engineers will repeat the removal and replacement process at 18,000 mobile towers, rooftops and 12,000 other sites across the country .


British Telecom said it is expected to remove all Huawei equipment by July and replace it with Nokia/Ericsson equipment. It is reported that the removal task, including the removal and replacement of new equipment, is expected to take 7 years. The purchased equipment includes: CR-A1 core router, service router, service router (cloud PE), route reflector and access switch.
