Low-power, high-definition haptic control driver IC: Powering the next generation of human-machine interface

Dialog Semiconductor's DA7280 high-definition (HD) tactile control driver IC provides up to 1kHz driving capability to cover a wide range of touch sensitivities. With market-leading no-load power consumption (360nA), linear resonant actuator (LRA) resonant frequency tracking function, low latency and other features, the DA7280 has aroused very good response in touch button replacement applications in systems such as smartphones, gaming platforms, and wearable devices.


Enabling the next generation of haptic control experiences
Haptic control actuators and motors are rapidly becoming more diverse. Gone are the days of simple coin cell battery powered LRA motors and small ERMs (eccentric rotor motors). Today’s haptic control actuators offer different experiences for different markets. Whether it’s a small pancake style LRA for a smartwatch or a large or multi-directional LRA for a game controller, Dialog’s patented current drive outputs support all of these motors, with currents up to 500mA.
