Shanghai Jiao Tong University Master of Engineering Thesis This paper first makes a simple analysis of the current status of the video surveillance system, and introduces the main related technologies involved in this system, including embedded technology, image compression technology, video compression technology and mobile data communication technology. After having a certain theoretical foundation, the overall design plan of this system is proposed, and the target functions to be achieved are clearly defined. Then, around the target plan, the specific implementation methods are introduced in detail, including the overall hardware structure, embedded Linux transplantation, USB camera driver transplantation, Video4Linux programming method, network transmission module development, streaming media system establishment, WAP program development, etc. Finally, the commissioning results in the current network test environment are given. This system uses embedded chips to realize the acquisition and encoding of static images and videos, and transmits the acquired compressed and encoded data to the video center server, and directly views the remote images in the 2G/3G mobile terminal in the form of WAP or streaming media client. The biggest feature of the system is that it adopts a distributed architecture C/S (acquisition end to video center server) and B/S (WAP server to mobile terminal) structure to facilitate the dynamic expansion of the system; at the same time, it also uses WAP technology to realize the wirelessization of traditional video surveillance.
