With the development of mobile computing technology, mobile databases are gradually moving towards applications, and mobile databases show their superiority in embedded operating systems. This paper analyzes the characteristics and architecture of mobile databases; introduces some key technologies in mobile database systems, and points out the application direction of mobile databases. Database technology has been continuously improving with the development of computing. With the advent of the mobile computing era, the demand for mobile database systems in embedded operating systems has opened up new development space for database technology. With the popularization of smart mobile terminals, embedded mobile database technology has gradually moved from the research field to a wide range of application fields. In the history of database system research, traditional distributed computing and distributed database research are based on wired networks and fixed hosts. These all adopt some default implicit assumptions, such as fixed network connections, peer-to-peer communication costs, and fixed host nodes. However, since the 1990s, with the rapid development of mobile communication technology and network technology, coupled with the widespread popularization of mobile computers and mobile communication devices, many computing nodes can establish connections with the network during movement, making the above assumptions invalid. The mobile computing environment has the characteristics of mobility, low bandwidth, frequent disconnection, asymmetry of network communication, and limited power supply, which makes the methods and technologies in traditional distributed databases cannot be directly applied to mobile databases.
