Proof of channel capacity of interleaved multiple access system: Interleaved multiple access system (IDMA) is a multiple access system that uses low-rate codes and an interleaver to distinguish users. It is considered to be a special case of code division multiple access (CDMA). IDMA omits special spreading sequences and improves system performance through iterative detection. It inherits the characteristics of CDMA such as resistance to multipath fading and multi-user interference. However, it does not give a strict theoretical explanation for the basic problem that IDMA and CDMA have the same channel capacity under the same channel conditions. Based on the definition of the interleaved multiple access system code, this paper introduces the average mutual information in information theory as a standard for measuring channel tolerance, studies the channel tolerance problem of the IDMA system with K users, and obtains the same channel tolerance as the CDMA system. The conclusion is proved by the method of random coding and joint typical columns. Therefore, it is proved from the perspective of information theory that IDMA is a special case of CDMA, completing the basic proof of information theory for the research work of IDMA.
