Selection of excitation frequency and sensitivity analysis in pipeline guided wave inspectionUltrasonic longitudinal guided waves were used to inspect heat exchanger pipes.Firstly the optimal testing mode L(O,2)was selected according to the dispersion curves of guided waves,then the frequencythickness product was chosen according to the displacement,stress and total energy density(TED)amplitude distributions.Finally,the sensitivity of testing was analyzed in the experiment.Results showed that the defects inpipes could be detected distinctly even if the wavelength of L(O,2)mode was 10 times longer than the defect size.
