The basic principle of LCD monitors. The last two times I introduced the basic principle of LCD monitor operation. That was the characteristics of liquid crystal itself and the operating principle of TFT LCD structure itself. This time we will introduce the overall system of TFT LCD, that is, its driving principle. However, its driving principle is still different due to some differences in the structure. First, we will introduce the principle of different driving system structures formed by different Cs (storage capacitor) storage capacitor structures. Cs (storage capacitor) storage capacitor structure Generally, there are two most common storage capacitor structures, namely Cs on gate and Cs on common. As the names suggest, the main difference between these two is that the storage capacitor is completed by gate wiring or common wiring. In the previous article, I mentioned that the storage capacitor is mainly used to keep the charged voltage until the next screen update. Therefore, we must use different layers of wiring to form parallel plate capacitors, just like in the CMOS process. In TFT In the LCD manufacturing process, the parallel plate capacitor formed by the display electrode and the gate wiring or the common wiring is used to make the storage capacitor Cs. [pic] Figure 1 shows these two storage capacitor structures. From the figure, we can clearly see that Cs ongate does not need to add an additional common wiring like Cs on common, so its aperture ratio will be larger. The size of the aperture ratio is an important factor affecting the brightness and design of the panel. Therefore, most of the current panel designs use the Cs ongate method. However, due to the Cs on gate method, its storage capacitor is formed between the next gate wiring and the display electrode. (Please see the equivalent circuit of Cs ongate and Cs on common in Figure 2) The gate wiring, as the name suggests, is connected to each T...
