The paper analyzes the shortcomings of embedded Linux in terms of real-time performance, studies the interrupt operation mechanism of the Linux 2.6 kernel, kernel non-preemptibility, spin locks and large kernel locks, and proposes corresponding real-time improvement methods. Tests show that the real-time performance of the improved embedded Linux is better.
