Overview The UPT biosensor is used to detect phosphorescent signals on the detection band and control band of an immunochromatographic test strip marked with infrared up-converting phosphor particles (UCP). It is an optical biosensor based on up-converting phosphor technology (UPT). Depending on the different types of UPT immunochromatographic test strips equipped, the UPT biosensor can quickly and quantitatively detect a variety of target analytes. UCP is a stable up-conversion phosphorescent material formed by doping rare earth metal elements in the crystal lattice. When excited by infrared light, it will emit visible light with a wavelength much shorter than the excitation light. Compared with traditional markers, UCP has high sensitivity, flexibility, stability and safety. The UPT biosensor and the UPT immunochromatographic test strip were developed by the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Academy of Military Medical Sciences, respectively. Shanghai Daheng Optics and Precision Mechanics Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
