A new technology and a new implementation method of graphical power system reactive power optimization software based on Microsoft Visio2003 graphic software platform and secondary development using VBA programming are proposed and studied. The general graphical modeling of power system based on the drawn electrical wiring diagram and the automatic recognition technology of power grid topology are studied. A practical graphical power system reactive power optimization software running on Visio2003 is developed. The development practice shows that the secondary development technology of Visio provides a new and effective way for the development of graphical power system reactive power optimization software.
