Research on 3D graphics of NC simulation based on OpenGL: The NC machining process is controlled by NC programs, but the errors of NC programs are often not easy to find. As a result, problems such as collision and interference may occur in actual machining. Through NC simulation software, the machining process can be simulated in the computer before manufacturing to find possible collisions, interferences, machinability of parts and rationality of processes. In the virtual machining environment, 3D graphics processing is its core technical issue. This paper uses the 3D graphics software standard OpenGL as a tool to explore the processing method of 3D graphics in NC simulation system. Abstract:The process of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining is controlled by the program of CNC, but the faults of the program of CNC is often difficult to be found. So there are possibly many problems, like collision, interference and so on in the real machining. We can simulate machining process by the software of CNC simulator in computer before the real machining, then find possible collision, interference, the machinability of parts and thereasonability of process, and so on.
