RC surge suppressor wiring

In order to suppress overvoltage caused by the vacuum circuit breaker switching high-voltage motors, RC surge suppressors , varistors
, zinc oxide arresters, etc. can be used.
The wiring is shown in Figure 4-60. Usually the capacitance C is 0.1~0.5yF and the resistance R is 100~200CZ. After installing the RC surge
suppressor, the overvoltage generated by the vacuum circuit breaker can be limited to about 2 times the rated voltage, which is relatively safe.
