"The Great Chip" - Reading Notes Chapter 5: Vision of Future Chips [Copy link]

The book mentions several forms of future chips: biochips, carbon-based chips, and quantum chips;

To be honest, I think these chips are what current technology can see. Although these chips are very advanced, they cannot be said to be chips that are far beyond human cognitive concepts. But among them, I think biochips are the most promising, and although quantum chips are mysterious, they may not be the best direction for humans.

The reason for this is that humans are supercomputers, but the energy and area they occupy are very limited; to achieve the same scale of computing power, a lot of energy may be needed to supply the operation of the machine, and much of the energy is dissipated in the form of heat;

The power consumption of biochips is very low, which is unmatched by current chips.

Imagine the shape of future chips:

1. The form of future chips may be biological, but they can survive in the space environment and can be self-compiled and self-generated, just like a seed that can quickly grow into a tree;

2. The computing power of future chips is almost unlimited, and immortality can be achieved by obtaining energy from the universe

3. Give birth to biological robots, space teleportation, etc.

It is really good. Ecosystem is a problem, but edge applications are not a big problem. China is really amazing, but there is still a big gap with the international mainstream.
