What is an IoT module? [Copy link]

What are the ways to connect objects or products to the Internet?

01

Wired method

Ethernet interface, which is the network cable method we commonly use.

But! This method requires a large investment in manpower and material resources, and is not applicable in many situations in real life.

For example: our shared bikes. After all, it's too silly to run around with an Internet cable while riding.

To solve this problem, the Internet of Things module appeared.

02

Wireless

That is, IoT modules, WIFI, 4G/5G, RoLA, NB-IOT, etc.

What is an IoT module?

The IoT module is a small electronic device embedded in an object or machine. It is the core of the IoT and can connect all objects to a wireless network and send and receive data.

The physical network module has built-in various network communication protocols (such as TCP/IP, MQTT) and the network standard requirements that need to be met, and provides a simple user operation interface to the outside world.

Users can enable their devices to access the physical Internet at the fastest speed without having to develop the corresponding network protocols and learn professional network knowledge themselves. Even if developers do not understand Internet knowledge, they can enable their products to have Internet of Things functions, greatly shortening the development cycle.

That is to say, the IoT module already has the ability to transmit information and access the Internet. What we need to do is to control the module and let it transmit the information we want to express, or let the module feed back the received information.

That is to say, the power supply, MCU, electronic components, antenna, etc. are integrated on a circuit board to form an integrated module. One end communicates with the device and the other end can access the Internet, which is equivalent to the connector of the Internet of Things. The data information generated by the device is transmitted to the network server through the Internet of Things module, and then forwarded to another device by the server, realizing remote wireless communication between devices.
