I am honored to be shortlisted for the second round of the EEWORLD community [2022 Digi-Key Innovation Design Competition]. Through this competition, I can combine the YOLOv3 model I have learned with the ESP32 chip, which is a combination of a very popular algorithm and a very popular chip. It can provide me with more options for my future path.

My project uses a camera to capture images, and uses the trained YOLOv3 model to identify traffic signs on the road, such as parking, traffic lights, left and right turns, and forward and backward traffic signs. In response to different traffic signs, I use ESP32 to control the car to take different driving states, thereby realizing a simple unmanned intelligent car, providing a learning direction for myself and more people who are exposed to unmanned driving in the future.

The Digi-Key logo on the SF Express box I received told me at a glance that it was hardware from Digi-Key Mall. The box contained the two development boards I applied for this time, namely ESP32-S2-KALUGA-1 and K210Sipeed M1 docking station kit.

This order was placed on June 16th, and because it is an overseas product, it arrived on June 30th. I couldn't wait to assemble it as soon as I received the express delivery. I went to Digi-Key's official website to download the datasheet to understand the hardware functions. I posted a post to show off the hardware 4 days later.

1. ESP32-S2-KALUGA-1 Kit

The kit includes ESP32-S2-KALUGA-1 motherboard (with touch screen), camera, and speaker.

2. K210 Sipeed M1 Docking Station Kit

The kit includes K210 motherboard, camera, screen, type-c adapter, pin header, which can be used for image processing, etc.

Is your budget much higher? I have K210Bit, which is several dozen dollars more. It seems that most people choose these two materials!
