My phone suddenly cannot recognize the TF card. What happened? [Copy link]

This post was last edited by led2015 on 2022-5-21 21:16

I have a 128G SanDisk TF card in my phone and it works great.

Yesterday I forgot to charge my phone when the battery was at 20%, and it automatically shut down due to lack of power, so I charged it and turned it on after it was charged.

But the TF card in the phone is useless. It shows that there is a problem with the TF card. You can correct the problem by clicking it, but it is useless. The TF card still cannot be read.

I clicked on it and it said formatting, but it didn't work, the TF card couldn't be recognized. I changed to another phone and it still couldn't be recognized. It seems that the phone is fine, but the TF card is the problem.

Use a card reader to insert the TF card, and on the computer, it can be recognized and everything is fine. It just prompts to repair (recommended), but the repair seems to fail and has no effect. However, various operations such as backing up the TF card content are fine.

I thought the TF card was normal, but when I inserted it into the phone, it still couldn't be recognized.

I am stunned. (It seems that this TF card can only be used with a card reader on a computer. I have not found other TF cards to try with my phone.)

I don’t know how to solve this problem…

In addition, the memory card of the mobile phone can only be read on the computer, and cannot be modified, deleted, created, or formatted, including the entire disk. The mobile phone cannot recognize it. It can be read and backed up with a card reader on the computer, but no other operations can be performed.

It should be miniSD card, that is, TF card, the original poster just didn't write it correctly. I have never seen a standard SD card used in a mobile phone. Even if there is one, it is from more than 20 years ago. Obviously, the mobile phones of that era cannot be used now, and the current SIM cards do not support it.   Details Published on 2022-5-20 14:46

The quality of SD cards is really bad now. Last month, a card that I had used for several years suddenly could not be recognized and could not be read on the computer. Fortunately, I bought it from JD.com and it still had a few months of warranty. I replaced it for free, but it could not be read again within 2 weeks.

It is said that some mobile phones will update the system after shutting down and restarting

It is possible that new problems will appear after the update

It is recommended that you restore your phone to factory settings and then see if it can read the card.

Since the data can still be read on the computer, format it on the computer after backing it up and then write the data back to the phone to try. When formatting, please select the full disk format, do not use the quick format, and make sure to select the right format.

I backed it up, and then formatted it on the computer, including the entire disk, but it still said that it could not be formatted. Currently, this mobile phone memory card can only be read, but not written or formatted. It is better than a completely broken one, but it is useless. Is there no other way?  Details Published on 2022-5-18 19:53

Failure to format may be due to data errors in the root area. Some card readers may be able to operate it, otherwise the root area needs to be rewritten with engineering software.  Details Published on 2022-5-20 14:41

This situation is similar to the theoretical write protection. Formatting and disk scanning and repairing are all unsuccessful. I don't know if the repair software recognizes it.

Try another card reader first. If that doesn't work, you'll have to use engineering software to fix it. However, engineering software will also be picky about card readers.  Details Published on 2022-5-20 14:43

It is probably because of a sudden power outage that caused the SD card to suddenly have problems. By the way, few mobile phones use SD cards nowadays.

The quality of SD cards is not very good nowadays, they can only store data temporarily.

Yes, to be precise, it is a TF card. I have searched many ways on Baidu, but none of them work.  Details Published on 2022-5-21 21:31

I don't know if anyone has a solution. It seems that it is write-protected due to charging and other reasons. Various methods on the Internet don't work. I don't know if there is any other good software that can format it. The several softwares I have tried so far don't work, such as EaseUS, USBOOT, DISKGENIUS, etc.
