Rapoo V10RGB Colorful Backlight Gaming Mouse Hard Pad Disassembly Review - Hardware Disassembly [Copy link]

This post was last edited by cjjh2014 on 2021-12-10 06:53

Before disassembling the hardware today, we will simply test the wireless charging function. First, connect them in sequence as shown in the figure below: DC power supply --- wireless charging mouse pad --- receiving induction board --- electronic load.

Figure 1

After the test connection, the coil of the receiving induction board needs to be facing the charging area of the wireless charging mouse pad, as shown in Figure 2 .

Figure 2

As can be seen from the figure, the input voltage is 5.31VDC , the input current is 0.778 A , the output is 5.2399VDC , the output current is 0.4 A , the input power is 4.13W, the output power is 2.1W , and the efficiency is 50.75% . The main purpose here is to test the charging function, because the wattage of the receiving induction board is relatively small and does not match the wattage of the wireless charging mouse pad, so here we just simply test the function.

The next step is to disassemble it. From the appearance, it should be a three-layer structure, with black film on the upper and lower surfaces and a reinforced circuit board in the middle. This is the view before disassembly. The specific structure has to be confirmed by looking at the pictures below.

Figure 3

Figure 3 shows the front of the wireless mouse pad. The front of the mouse pad is a black hard plastic sheet. This plastic sheet has a certain hardness and is easy to tear. The surface looks like a frosted surface, but it is actually very smooth when touched by hand. The black plastic sheet is attached to the double-sided tape (as shown in Figure A ). The middle layer is a transparent plate similar to acrylic material (as shown in Figure B , the specific material needs to be further confirmed). This layer is also the support structure of the mouse pad. There are small pieces of patterned yarn in the middle layer of the board. This is very beautiful. I don’t know if it has a technical function or is purely for aesthetics. This layer is embedded with a wireless charging circuit board, which is also the core of this wireless charging mouse pad.

There are also LEDs in the middle layer . As shown in Figure 4 , there are 12 RGB LEDs arranged around the circuit board to display several colors.

Here we will briefly explain the principle of wireless charging, which is electromagnetic induction. The DC power supply is connected through the USB interface, and is inverted into high-frequency AC power by the power management chip in the middle to the primary winding, and then coupled with the secondary winding to transfer energy. The secondary coil obtains energy and then converts it into the required voltage and current through the power management chip to power the user. The area D shown in Figure 3 is the primary coil, and the area C is the power management conversion module. The figure below enlarges the circuit module to find the main IC , but it cannot be found on the Internet from the surface silk screen, so the specific circuit schematic diagram is not listed here.

From Figures 4 and 5 , it can be clearly seen that the PCB layout is still very regular, and the components are staggered, which is both beautiful and regular. The circuit structure is relatively simple. Generally, the main IC has a high degree of integration, which saves some peripheral circuits. All components are SMDs, and the SMD processing is also well done. The pins of the components are welded very full.

This product has 10W high-power wireless charging capability, supports wireless fast charging of multiple devices, and supports devices that meet the international Qi wireless charging standard protocol - mouse, mobile phone, etc., and can be charged without removing the phone case. 10W/7.5W/5W three-level output power, automatically matched according to the device.

The picture below shows the last layer of the bottom. The bottom surface is designed with non-slip silicone particles to increase friction. Even if you move the mouse vigorously during the game, it can stay stable on the desktop. It is composed of a layer of soft film and double-sided tape, as shown in the A position in the picture .

Figure 6

At this point, the physical structure of the Rapoo V10RGB Colorful Backlight Gaming Mouse Hard Pad has been completely disassembled. The wireless charging circuit is an important component of this product. The appearance beautification design and the use of materials are still very distinctive. After disassembly, I found that the structure is not complicated. I personally think that this product is well made in terms of materials and craftsmanship. The product is both beautiful and practical.

Area C is the power management conversion module

From the outside, there seems to be no sign outside the charging area.

At first glance, it seems to be working well. Now I am waiting to see the circuit analysis.

Not bad, the equipment is professional enough, but the pictures are a bit insufficient. Why not remove the mouse pad? Wouldn’t any flat desktop be better?

Is 50% efficiency too low?

The data is measured at 2.1W. Generally, the efficiency of constant frequency IC is relatively low when light load is used. And the power consumption of LED lamp is also included. So the actual value should be higher. This is my personal opinion.  Details Published on 2021-12-10 19:30

If the mouse cannot be placed in the charging position, it may take half a day to charge.
